Crispian Olver

                            

Dr Olver is an expert in the fields of public sector policy and organisation development, especially in relation to local government, the environment and sustainable development.

From 1999-2005, Crispian was the Director General at the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, where he coordinated the World Summit on Sustainable Development. Prior to this, he was Deputy Director-General in charge of Local Government in the Department of Constitutional Development, and Chief Director for the Reconstruction and Development Programme in the Office of the President. In the 1980’s and early 1990’s he was a leader of the End Conscription Campaign, set up various development NGOs and played a role in building the organisational machinery for the ANC in the Eastern Cape.

Crispian holds a Bachelor of Science Medicine as well as a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, all from the University of Cape Town.
